FOUR THRESHOLDS
EArt Gallery is hosting the exhibition “Four Thresholds” from February 11th to March 5th, 2026. This exhibition proposes to move beyond the traditional approach of production confined to a fixed and established exhibition space, rethinking space not merely as a framework, but as an active and decisive decision-making area that determines modes of production, relationships, and access possibilities.
Taking place in the Surp Hireşdagabet Armenian Church in Balat, the exhibition demonstrates EArt Gallery’s choice to continue its production not by fixing it to a single, protected gallery space, but through temporary collaborations established in independent spaces across Istanbul. This approach, far from signaling a break in the gallery’s program, reveals a commitment to maintaining a flexible production model that expands along axes of circulation, encounter, and public contact, and that transcends comfort zones.

Curated by Dilara Güven, Four Thresholds brings together the works of Ayşenur Şentürk, Meltem Şahin, Merve Zeybek, and Renknar Burcu Günay, each with different production principles, forms of expression, and approaches. The exhibition unfolds through four separate rooms; each room is designed as an independent space with internal coherence, where the artists construct their own distinct narratives. This structure, rather than equalizing the artists under a single thematic framework, creates a common ground where different production languages can coexist, yet are not reduced to one another. The common ground here is not considered a pre-defined compromise, but rather a temporary and negotiable state established through the relationships, transitions, and distances created between the rooms.

As a contemporary reflection of EArt Gallery’s decision to rethink gallery practice through space, “Four Thresholds,” which offers an open-ended proposal on how the relationships between production, exhibition, and circulation can intersect with public experience, on view until March 5, 2026, at Ayvansaray Mahallesi, Düriye Sokak No:15, Balat.
