TRANSITIONAL STATE

EArt Gallery presents Burcu Yavuz’s solo exhibition “Transitional State,” focusing on her “ORB” series, at Akaretler Sıraevler No:47 from March 13th to April 5th. The exhibition brings together the artist’s recent works, showcasing her painting practice developed through broad color fields, flat surfaces, and central light concentrations. In this series, the Orb form corresponds not only to a spherical geometry but also to an energy focus with blurred boundaries, positioned between the material body and the state of in-betweenness. The light concentrated on the surface is balanced by the surrounding broad color fields; the artist prefers transitions that dissolve and disperse rather than sharp contours.

“Transitional State” points to the idea of transformation within continuity rather than a fixed state of being, while the composition relies more on the arrangement of space than on volumetric illusion. The degrees of brightness and opacity of the light create a shimmering depth effect on the surface; the images, without establishing a representational narrative, make visible the possibility of an existence standing at the edge of perception.

The exhibition at Akaretler No: 47, which is the second leg of EArt’s program that moves its gallery practice beyond a fixed and established exhibition space, on view until April 5, 2026.
